子曰："古之学者为己，今之学者为人。"

孔子说："古代学者的目的在修养自己的学问道德，现代学者的目的却在装饰自己，给别人看。"

Confucius said, "Ancient scholar seek for improving own moral and knowledge. Modern scholar beautify/decorate himself for showing other people."

杰狐说。
为己、和现在自私之意甚远。是为了让自己不断进步和向善。
为人、也不是为了引导别人之意。而是一种悻悻做态的伪善学者。
孔子的一生很重视学。学才是让自己迈向道的车轮。

Learning is for improving the moral and knowledge continuously, not for pretend to be virtuous and knowledgeable.
Confucius is very serious about "Learning" for his whole life. Learning is the wheel to bring you to Tao.
